Perfection of mines, openings and underground structures construction and reconstruction technologies; development of driving technologies and support structures for permanent and development workings and faces;

Study of the stressed-strained state of the rock mass around mine workings and underground structures and perfection of its assessment methods;

Making, developing and application, after a specific example, of methods analyzing static, rheological/flow and dynamic loads of mine workings and underground structures and of  their computer programs;

Development of computer-aided design methods for stripping and development/mining of blanket and vein deposits taking into account up-to-date mechanization facilities and market requirements;

Perfection of a technology for mining deep levels of thick coal seams under difficult mining and geological conditions;

Development of methods of complex mining of manganese deposits under improved and environmentally friendly systems of mining operations;

Development of facilities and systems protecting underground structures from harmful effects of unauthorized blasts (including terrorist explosions);

Development of optimal ventilation systems for underground structures and tunnels and perfection of operational parameters of ventilation installations
