business trip of delegation from G.Tsulukidze Mining
Institute in Technical University of Clausthal, Germany |

| On
10-15 December, 2007 workers of G. Tsulukidze Mining
Institute: N. Chikhradze - the director of the institute;
chief researcher, doctor S. Khomeriki - head of department of Open
Mining and Blasting Technologies; chief researcher, doctor R.
Mikhelson; engineers – D. Khomeriki and K. Dzebisashvili
were on a business trip in Technical University of Clausthal,
Germany. The initiator of the visit was prof. Hossein Tudeshki
– the director of Mining Institute of Clausthal Technical
University, the collaborator of the Project G-1096, funded by
International Science and Technology Center (ISTC; www.istc.ru).

During
the visit the results of the project were discussed in details
and specific activities were planned aiming their practical
usage (In particular, as a result of preliminary negotiations
with the collaborator a Canadian company expressed its
interest in commercialization of the results of above
mentioned project). There were also planned activities aiming
improvement and further commercialization of computer program
designing drilling and blasting works on open cast mines
created within the bounds of the project. There were also held
meetings with Institute of Mineral Processing and Institute of
Petroleum Engineering. They also visited one of the major salt
mines of the world in Hannover and were introduced modern
technologies of salt mining.
The
memorandum was signed between Mining Institute of
Clausthal Technical University and G. Tsulukidze Mining
Institute. It refers to the following:
- Common
scientific works including taking part in European
programs;
- Exchanging
specialists;
- Cooperation
in preparing masters and doctors (both Germans in our
institute and Georgians in Germany. Preliminary
introductory visit of one of our young specialists in
Clausthal for two months has already been planned);
- Organization
of short-term summer school-seminars;
- Benefit
with data base of the library of the university;
- Publishing
common scientific collection, etc.
