On 24-27 October
in Rio de Janeiro was held World Congress cable way
international association of
O.I.T.A.F. (INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR TRANSPORTATION BY
ROPE) aegis. Despite the long distance from Europe and North
America more than 300 specialists attended the 10th anniversary
meeting in this famous city of South America: scientists,
industrialists, and operators, represent of government cable way
safety. The leading role on this congress was using the cable
way in urban transport and tourism, which has leading role in
South America and especially in Brazil.

During the main meeting of the congress, Professor David
